Leatherman Skeletool
This beautiful piece of kit is the new Leatherman Skeletool, a lightweight multitool that I actually want. That link goes to the Popular Mechanics website. More information can be found on the Leatherman website.
When I say want, I mean absolutely must have. I have literally been dreaming about owning one of these.
Lightweight, cool cut out metal, not too many gadgets to bulk it out, carabiner / bottle opener hybrid - what's not to like?
According to their UK distributors (yes, I emailed them):
"The Skeletool is due to be released at the end of this year – most likely December. We will only receive a very limited supply of these so they will not be widely available in the UK until early 2008.
Suggested retail prices are as follows: -
Skeletool - £69.95
Skeletool CX - £99.95"
Hmm, more expensive than what they will be on sale for in the US, but to be honest, I'm still buying one.
They can be pre-ordered from some sites in the US, but with the same release date. However, they do work out about £30 cheaper, even with postage. The people at My Sharp Knife are really helpful too - that's where I'm getting mine from.
WANT!!!
More Skeletool porn pics here.
P.S - Leatherman UK, if you want to give me one I'll show it to everyone I meet and order them to buy one! I promise.
UPDATE - The nice people from Leatherman UK have been in touch to say that due to production delays, the Skeletool won't be available until early 2008. I am bereft.
ANOTHER UPDATE:
Some more news for UK Skeletool fans from Leatherman:
We are hoping to receive our first shipment of the Skeletool and Skeletool CX mid February.
Suggested retail prices have been lowered to: -
Skeletool - £59.95
Skeletool CX - £79.95
So prices down a bit, but still more than ordering from the U.S.
